BioPulping International, Inc. (BPI) is a company that was established in 1996 and organized under the laws of the State of Wisconsin. BPI is a technology and consulting company that specializes in developing and commercializing energy saving technologies. BPI also provides consulting services to the pulp and paper industry nationwide. BPI has spent nearly $5 million in research, development, and deployment of energy technologies. Angel investors and federal agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have provided the funding. BPI’s model is to work with the best universities, federal institutions, and the industries in the United States and use their employees and expertise through Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA’s). BPI provides funding to these research institutions through these CRADAs, which keeps the number of employees at BPI somewhere between 2-5. BPI also provides consulting services to CleanTech Partners (CTP). CTP, a part of the Wisconsin Focus on Energy Program, was established to accelerate the deployment of energy saving and renewable technologies by making investments. BPI has been providing consulting services to CTP since its inception. BPI is also expanding its consulting services to other industries, including the growing IT industry and building capacity.
